Stellantis Wins 2025 Truck of the Year

Congrats to Stellantis and the Ram 1500 RHO for being named 2025 Motor Trend's Truck of the Year.  Stellantis truck division Ram has now won this honor 4 of the last 7 years, and this is the seventh time a Ram pickup has earned the title since Ram became a standalone brand.

Motor Trend's “Of the Year” awards recognize the best vehicles representing exceptional value, superiority in their classes and impact on the automotive scene.

Wondering how much time the RHO model spent in design reviews on the Vooodoo Lounge PowerWall in order to come out on top of the design aspect of the "of the year" criteria?  Certainly a full scale (1:1) design review can be conducted since the 32x9 aspect ratio video wall has  22,579,200 pixels of data (8960x2520 resolution) and measures roughly  37' wide x 10.5' tall so it is large enough for the Ram 1500 RHO!

Apparently, RHO is not an acronym for "Ram High Output" or "Rebel High Output", but artificial intelligence searching lists major clues that it's short for "rhino", the internal codename for the project. Plus, the RHO badge on the center console features an image of a rhinoceros.

The RHO is a sport performance truck that combines the best features of the previous generation TRX with a new 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine that produces 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque that will go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. The RHO will tow up to 8,380 pounds, with fuel economy of 14 mpg in the city, 16 mpg on the highway, and 15 mpg combined. Inside you will find heated, ventilated, and massaging leather seats, and you can option it with three interior screens, a hands-free highway driving assistance system, and a surround-view camera.

Winners in the category are awarded based on how each contender measures against the award’s six criteria: advancement in design, engineering excellence, efficiency, safety, value and performance of intended function.

For vehicles vying for the Truck of the Year, Motor Trend puts them through a full battery of performance tests at a professional automotive test center, then the vehicles are evaluated on real-world roads (loaded, unloaded, and while towing) and also at a premiere off-road facility before selecting a winner.
