Commerce, MI (July 17, 2008) – Immersion Graphics Inc. has announced that it has formed a new division, IGI, to more clearly focus the company's resources on the two distinct markets it serves. The IGI division will be solely dedicated to the advanced visualization market in the U.S. while the company's Immersion Graphics division will continue serving the metro Detroit and Michigan general A / V market space.

Company President, Pat Hernandez, articulated his decision by saying, "In this, the year of our ten year anniversary, we have reached a point where we are ready to begin pursuing national opportunities for our advanced visualization business. To be better positioned to do this I felt it was appropriate - both for ourselves and for our customers - to more clearly define and allocate company resources to each of the two distinct markets we serve."

Hernandez says, "The Immersion Graphics name has built substantial brand equity in the Detroit and Michigan markets, so we wanted to keep that brand focused on our existing general A / V business there. The new IGI brand will focus on our advanced visualization business and the national growth opportunities we are beginning to pursue. We will be creating a new brand identity for IGI, separate from Immersion Graphics, to help communicate our new organization and focus."
