IGI helps kick off Detroit Auto Show at Main Event 2014

The MAIN Event kicks off the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) on Sunday Jan. 12 at Orchestra Hall/Max M. Fisher Music Center at 6 p.m. This invitation-only event, is in a category of its own, as it recognizes and honors automotive industry executives, showcases student’s automotive-design work, and features “treads and threads” – - a fashion show of automotive-inspired garments by Detroit fashion designers (some garments are made of automotive materials).

The 2014 award recipients are Carlos Ghosn, President and CEO of Nissan, Chairman and CEO of Renault and also Chairman of Renault-Nissan Alliance Board, as the event’s “Global Industry Executive of the Year”; and Ian Callum, Jaguar Design Director as the “Industry Innovator of the Year”. Both award designations were selected by the Executive Committee of The MAIN Event. Additionally, current students at Lawrence Technological University will be awarded the “Next Generation of Design Innovation” by Dassault Systèmes and the “Coach Builder Design” awarded by SRG Global.

The MAIN Event Awards have become a coveted iconic symbol of achievement that many global executives aspire to become a recipient. Each year two executives are honored for their achievements that have made substantive global impact and lead their institutions to set new
standards of industry innovation.
