For roughly 27 years, Immersion Graphics, Inc. (IGI) has been known for custom design-build integration. We are often asked who we outsource all of the different parts of our process to. In fact, we do everything else in-house (except powder coating). Beyond that, over 90% of the large-scale, advanced visualization, audio visual solutions that we design and build are considered to be custom. And, we fabricate all of the unique structures required for the solutions created by our team.
Most every aspect of a custom solutions is tailored to a specific customers' workflow, team, location and facility attributes - all driving choices made to determine what the end result will be. There are many steps in our project management process, with over 150 steps in our GANTT chart that includes 12 review stages, 9 approval stages and 4 executive sign-offs, but the fabrication steps are early on in the process and crucial to our overall success.
IGI is known for custom structures and their high caliber performance, and clean, sleek finish. The goal is to create structures that will impress customers and their audiences both functionally and aesthetically. This requires great attention to detail right down to the quality of welded seams, and all the way through to an IGI signature black powder coat.
Initially designed in the parametric modeling software, SolidWorks, all IGI structures are built to specification. After this custom engineering, our fabrication team builds all portable and permanent mechanical structures and prepares them for the very precise fitting with LED cabinets or projection/screen systems on our own shop floor. Doing all of this work in-house enables us to ensure material quality and structural integrity per design specifications, respond faster to design changes, mitigate the risk of missing target delivery dates potentially associated with outsourcing, and remain flexible to meet customers' widely varying size and form requirements.
