Direct View LED Upgrades Help Companies Increase Real Estate

Years ago, a common concern when integrating large scale advanced visualization solutions was what physical space could accommodate the desired image. To put a full size car or truck onto a screen for a design or engineering review, it not only took over 18' in width, but it took that same 18' plus the size of the projector to project the image. Projectors that could throw a photorealistic image onto a 18' screen were usually a few feet in length which meant that you needed a "throw distance" of 21' to fill the screen with the desired image.

There were ways to reduce that distance somewhat with folded optics/mirrors, but you could not reduce it completely and that "wasted" space was costly to some environments. We know that real estate is among the most valuable commodities for corporate and military facilities, and the decision to utilize that space was an important decision to be made when considering an advanced visualization solution such as a PowerWall.

Before the development of direct view LED, you had to determine exactly how much space your organization would need for a PowerWall projection system which was calculated by multiple factors including: physical space, the type of projection needed, screen size, and the distance to the projector.

With direct view LED, the calculation is much simpler, and the factors are reduced to the width and height of your desired screen size. You no longer need to waste space on the throw distance required by a projector.  Direct view LED can be mounted on a structure only requiring a few inches. No more “folding optics” or “bouncing light paths” to squeeze in your visualization solution.

Organizations today are reclaiming facility real estate by upgrading older projection-driven PowerWalls to LED PowerWalls, and they are using the extra space in a variety of ways saving them from more costly options. At IGI, we can help your organization realize its advanced visualization needs based on your unique space requirements.

Perhaps you need one system that can be in two places? That might have been an impossibility with a projection solution, but take a look at the IGI DesignView - visualization on the go. Basically a PowerWall on wheels that can be taken where it is needed.
